If you are using outgoing links to pass page rank with an exact match anchor text, you are sending alarm bells ringing to Google who will issue you with the dreaded ‘unnatural outgoing links’ message. Google will remove your website from their index until you resolve these outbound links. This will result in a huge loss of traffic and rankings.
As mentioned, your article should always out the readers experience first. Only link out to websites that support your blog and will be a useful extension to your own article. Using a rel=nofollow attribute on outbound links is advised if you are not 100% sure the website is trustworthy. Treat your outbound links the same as you would for your inbound links. You do not want spam inbound links and you do not want spam outbound links either.

First of all you do the basics, publish your post on Facebook, Twitter and Google+. if you have a large social media following then people will read your post from social media alone. If you do not have a large following you need to do some more content marketing.
Letting the website owners you have linked out to that you have included them in your post is a great way to get exposure for your blog post. The chances are they have a large social following and will promote your blog post across their accounts. It is in their interest to get more readers on your post to increase the power of their back link.
Posting your blog post on blog directories will increase the visibility of your article and will attract these important links and social shares.

Interacting with readers that leave comments on your post will add even more quality content and also encourage the person, or persons to revisit and even link to your post. Not all visitors expect to see a new post as often as once a day but most blog readers expect the content on the blog to be updated on a regular basis. In most cases visitors expect new content on at least a weekly basis. However, depending on the subject matter the visitors may expect updates on a basis which is either more frequent. Similarly visitors may not be interested in receiving this type of information more than a few times a year. Blog owners should be aware of the frequency of which readers expect new posts and should make an effort to oblige the readers with updates this often. This article will discuss methods for keeping a blog up to date including scheduling a regular time to post blogs, using publishing tools wisely and hiring guest bloggers when necessary.

Finding Time to Post Daily

One way to help to ensure a blog remains up to date is to schedule time to post blogs on a daily basis. This is especially important when blog readers expect new posts on a daily basis or at least several times per week. However, bloggers who utilize a social network to maintain their blog should consider a few different factors. Most social networks enable users to make their website either private or public. Private websites are only available to the user and other users he specifically approves to view his website while public websites are available to all users of the system. These same capabilities also apply to the blogs which are maintained on a social network. For this reason bloggers must determine whether or not they wish to make their blog posts available to the entire social network or to only a fraction of this network.

This decision will be largely based on a matter of personal preference. Another aspect bloggers who use a social network to publish their blog should be aware of includes the potential for harassment from other members through the blog. This can be in the form of offensive comments posted in response to blog entries. Depending on the degree of the harassment the blogger may choose to ignore these comments or take stronger actions. Bloggers should review the policies of the social network and solicit their assistance in dealing with harassment from other users. In most cases dealing with the problem may be as simple as blocking the user from making comments on the blog but in some cases it may be necessary to contact the social network administrators in an attempt to get the user banned from the system. In this situation the administrators will review the situation and make a judgment regarding whether or not the user has violated the terms of service.
